How do I organize locations?

TimeForge enables you to set up multiple locations in the TimeForge system to represent the physical locations of your stores. If you run a corporation or a company with multiple businesses, each business having multiple locations, this can get complicated. Organizing the levels of hierarchy in your operation will help make things run smoothly. For example, your company is Joe’s Confections. Joe’s Confections owns Joe’s Bakery and Joe’s Candy. There are two Joe’s Candy stores. The hierarchy would be (top to bottom): Confections at the top, then Bakery and Candy Store in the middle, then Bakery, Candy store #1 and Candy store #2 at the bottom.

Go to Corporation Settings.

Go to the Locations list


Navigate to the Locations tab, then click on Company Hierarchy.

Add a new Level


On the Company Hierarchy page click on the Add a new Level to the Company Hierarchy button.

To add a hierarchy, click on the New button at the bottom of the page and begin editing. You can add as many levels of hierarchy as apply to your business/corporation.

What Is the Daily Log?

In many businesses, keeping track of the daily notes, task lists, todo items, and sticky notes can become cumbersome quickly. Scheduling upcoming maintenance events, human resource tasks, management meetings, and other necessary items across multiple shifts – where the manager that create the event may not be the manager responsible for the event – can quickly become a nightmare. Communication among staff and the management team is a requirement for every business, in any industry. - Multi-unit (multiple location) operators have no insight into the day-to-day operations of each location without faxing and scanning pages to each other.

In most cases, the paper log book is simply insufficient for modern businesses. Many niche businesses provide organized paper equivalents of the 3-ring binder or lab notebook, like Red Book Solutions. While these product are superior to paper notebooks from your local office supply store, almost of the disadvantages of the paper process remain. In addition, the log books are organized in a format that might not work for your business.

The Daily Log Interface


The Daily Log has an easy to use interface, displayed above.

1. Searching the Daily Log can be accomplished from the left-side pane. You can restrict your search by category, the manager who created the log entry, by date range, or the employee that the note is associated with.
2. Logs for the day are displayed in an easy to read format.
3. Navigate to other days using the date picker, or move forward and backward in time using the Next and Previous buttons.
4. Switch between the Manager Log (viewable only by management staff), the Staff Log (viewable by all staff members), and the TimeForge Audit Log (contains audit information about changes made within TimeForge).
5. Add a New Daily Log entry with a single click!
