Requesting paid time off

To make a request for paid leave, you must be eligible for paid leave, which is controlled by management at your organization.

If you’re eligible for paid leave, the process for requesting it is much like asking for any other time off or submitting availability.

After requesting paid leave, it will be considered a Pending request until your manager approves or denies it.

Go to the Requests Tab.

  • Click on the “Requests” tab

Requests that are not yet Approved can be Edited.

Requests that are pending manager approval can be seen on your Request Calendar with a small cautionary icon next to them. These requests may also be edited, or deleted.

Note: Once a request is approved or denied by management personnel, you will not be able to edit the request.

Option one: Request the whole day (8 hours).

Click on the day header

Enter request details

After clicking on the day header, this window will pop up. Simply enter the request information for each field.

  1. Select the request type.
  2. Select the leave type. If selecting a leave type eligible for pay, be sure to see the next step.

Make sure the hours requested are accurate

Because you are entering an all-day request, TimeForge defaults to calculating 8 hours of pay for this request. If you want a different number of hours to be calculated in your request, enter them in the “Hours per day for leave” request.

Click “Next” to save your request.

Option two: Request part of the day.

Highlight the time range you’d like off

Click, drag and let go to highlight the times range you’d like off.

Enter request details

After clicking on the day header, this window will pop up. Simply enter the request information for each field.

  1. Select the request type.
  2. Select the leave type. If selecting a leave type eligible for pay, be sure to see the next step.

Make sure the hours requested are accurate

Because you are entering a request that does not last all day, TimeForge will calculate the hours of pay to match the number of hours you have requested off.

Click “Next” to save your request.

Pending Requests.

After a request or change to availability has been made, you can see the request and status on your Today page at the bottom.
