Manager’s sales projections help you prepare for the upcoming week or month. By forecasting your sales and comparing these “theoretical sales” to your actual sales, you can more accurately predict your labor needs and create a more accurate employee schedule.
In some cases, you may want to copy a previous week’s projections if there are no significant changes to your sales projections from week to week, or if last month’s projections for a particular week also apply to the current month. Or, you may want to copy the projections and simply increase those projections by a percentage (this week I’ll do 5% more than last week).
Here are instructions on how to copy previous projections.
The “Copy Previous Date” function.
On the “Manager Projections” page, choose:
1. the sales category,
2. the department if applicable,
3. and the date for which you would like to make a projection (this is the week you are copying to).
Then, click the orange “Copy Last Week’s Manager Projections” button.
This functions allows you to select a previous date and copy those sales amounts to populate your manager projections.
To start, click “Copy Previous Date”.
The below pop-up will display.
Select Type: This can be either Actual Figures, Manager Projections, or System Forecasted Figures. This selection tells TimeForge from where the sales figures will be pulled.
Select Week: This selection allows you to choose various predefined or custom dates to pull the sales figures from.
You also have the ability to push those selected sales figures up or down a given percentage. For example, last month you may have had $150,000 in sales, but this month you’re projecting a 5% increase. Simply choose “5%” in the “Up By” box.
View a preview of the copied sales figures then select “Copy Week” to continue.
Once you have selected a Type, Week, and percentage up/down, you can select “Show Preview” to view a preview of the copied sales figures. This gives you an opportunity to make any changes before you copy the sales.
Select “Copy Week” to continue.
