At TimeForge, we understand that many of our customers switch to us from spreadsheets. Because of this, we offer the ability to import employees from a CSV file, like most spreadsheets can be saved as.
TimeForge is a complete labor management tool that is great for making things like tracking attendance and creating an employee schedule quick and easy. Plus, from the employee information page, you can keep track of employee information like cell phone numbers, social security numbers, passwords, payrates, and much more.
You can import employees with only a few clicks!
Choose the appropriate CSV file.
Note: The document that you upload has to be saved as a .CSV file for TimeForge to be able to read it. You can “Save As” in Microsoft Word as a .CSV.
Review the employee data for import.
1. This is the field that will appear in TimeForge, which is based on the information we pull from your .CSV file.
2. This is the information that we are pulling in from your .CSV file. As you can see, we match up what you have in your document with a logical match in TimeForge.
3. Select this box if you want to ignore the first row of your file. For instance, click this box if the first row includes entries such as “position,” “pay rate,” and “name,” and you don’t want those to appear in TimeForge.
4. If you select this option, TimeForge will terminate any employee that does not appear in the file you are uploading. This feature is commonly used by those who began entering in employees one at a time, but decided to import later and don’t want duplicate entries.
Click “Import Data” when you’re finished.
